"The movie is so preposterous. I love it."
We all love movies, and even when a film is panned by critics and fans alike, you can still enjoy the flick. On the r/movies subreddit, Reddit user u/Calypso75 asked people to share movies they love despite them being universally acknowledged as terrible. Grab your popcorn and soda, because here are some of the "bad" films people love:

1. "Pacific Rim. Let's be real, this movie was, objectively, not a great film, but for the love of all things holy, GIANT ROBOTS run by two people are fighting GIANT MONSTERS with GIANT WEAPONS and A GODDAMN BOAT SWORD. You don't understand the pure entertainment and joy this movie brought me."
2. "Project X is a guilty pleasure of mine. I know it's bad, but I just like when it goes batsh*t crazy."
3. "Magic Mike XXL. It's so bad but so good!!"
4. "David Lynch's Dune was so bad that he wanted his name stricken from the record. I love it, but good god, is it stupid."
5. "Blood Monkey. It's kinda like a low-budget Jurassic Park-type movie, but with a killer monkey. It's supposed to be scary, but it's hilariously funny."

Genius Entertainment
6. "Van Helsing. I saw so many negative reviews when it came out, and I still see negative comments about the movie, but I loved it. In the words of Roger Ebert, 'Van Helsing is silly, spectacular, and fun.'"
7. "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I saw it first as a kid and thought it was cool as sh*t."

20th Century Fox
8. "Jumper. It's a bad movie, but I can't help but watch it every year or so. The concept is just so cool, but everything about the execution is wrong."

20th Century Fox
9. "I wholeheartedly love Speed Racer. It was awesome, colorful, and fun."
10. "Dudley Do-Right, with Brendan Fraser. There are parts of it that kinda make me cringe, but on the whole, I find it hilarious."

Universal Pictures
11. "Battleship. The plot and dialog are total cheese. Also, Brooklyn Decker."

Universal Pictures
13. "The Tuxedo starring Jackie Chan. Absolutely absurd, but my favorite part is Jackie dancing and lip-singing to James Brown."

DreamWorks Pictures
14. "Mallrats. It's the film even Kevin Smith fans tend to hate, but I really like it. It's got a lot of good gags, and it moves at such a fast pace. It might just be nostalgia, though. Ever since I saw the 3D poster in my comic books, I knew I needed to see it. I even bought the soundtrack, and it cost almost $30. Adjusted for inflation, that's about $50 now."
16. "Jupiter Ascending. The wooden dialogue, the preposterous plot, the SPACE OPERA. Space wolf-hybrids. Space roller blades. Space bees. Space princes. Space industry. Space bureaucracy. This movie has everything...in space."

Warner Bros. Pictures
17. "Wild Wild West. I can't explain it...it was a summer blockbuster that literally opens with decapitation and ends with a gigantic mechanical spider. It's so preposterous. I love it."

Warner Bros.
18. "Congo is a terrible movie that I happen to like anyway. I love it when the African general tells Tim Curry to stop eating his sesame cake."
19. "Evolution. It's obviously a 'bad' movie, yet it's also my favorite. If giant dinosaur birds ever attack a mall, I will totally sing, 'You are so beautiful' while making bird calls."

DreamWorks Pictures
20. "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is AWESOME! It's simple, gritty, obnoxious, and fun but still has a plot."

Paramount Pictures
21. "Kung Pow! Enter the Fist remains one of the best movies I've seen, at least in my memory. I will never watch it again, so it remains that way."
