LeBron James has not yet decided on his NBA future after his contract expired with the Los Angeles Lakers. At 41, many people think that James is at the tail end of his career. That is true, and LeBron knows it, so he is taking his time to make his decision.
Of course, it is on the Lakers to make an offer, but that has not come just yet. As the calendar moves to July, free agency will be the talk of the town, and the Lakers will need to make some moves. Re-signing James could be a big part of those plans.
Channing Frye urges LeBron James to return to the Lakers
One of the most popular ideas that people are throwing out there is for LeBron to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It is his hometown team that he played for twice in his career, leading them to a championship in 2016.
One of his former teammates during that 2016 run was Channing Frye, who has been quite vocal in convincing Bron to stay with the Lakers rather than returning to the Cavaliers, who just can't get over the hump.

Frye is still unconvinced about the Cavaliers, especially after they got swept by the New York Knicks. James spending possibly his last season there is not a good idea for Frye and a lot of other people in NBA circles.
"I don’t like the setup. Cleveland got too many what-ifs now. After seeing what I saw, like 52-year-old LeBron ain’t going to solve those issues," Frye said on The Road Trippin' Show.
As the Cavaliers progress with their core group of Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen, they lack a player in the small forward position. LeBron can fit there, but it seems Frye does not think that is the optimal landing spot for the four-time MVP.
