Aces' Chelsea Gray gets new midseason job that lands her in Sophie Cunningham's company

Chelsea Gray is the WNBA's only active four-time champion. She's one of her generation's best point guards, a true leader and one of the Las Vegas Aces' core players in their ongoing dynasty.

Now, Gray will try to bring viewers at home inside the dynamic that breeds consistent winning and championship success.

It was revealed Monday that Gray will join Amazon Prime Video as a "player contributor," continuing a media trend that has taken hold in both the NBA and the WNBA in recent years.

Gray joins Los Angeles Sparks star Kelsey Plum and Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham as active WNBA players with a midseason media job. She told Front Office Sports that she is looking forward to the opportunity.

“I think networks have started to realize that there is no better point of view to spotlight than an actual player,” Gray told FOS. “You can assume what it feels like and sounds like, but unless you’re in the trenches every day … you don’t really know. Being able to speak on that experience in real time is cool and special.”

Gray, 33, is a six-time All-Star and a three-time All-WNBA selection. Regarded as one of the WNBA's great playoff performers, the "Point Gawd" is a former WNBA Finals MVP, and she won her fourth championship -- her third with the Aces -- in 2025.

What Gray wants to bring in her new player contributor job is an emphasis on how "small details" add up over the course of a season that can key a long, fruitful playoff run.

After all, she knows about those "small moments" more than most.

“Championships are built in the regular season through small details and small moments that viewers at home might not be able to pick up on,” Gray explained. “I’ll definitely be pointing those out.”
