Amid all the trade rumors, Anthony Davis apparently wants to stay with the Wizards

Anthony Davis seems to be a magnet for trade rumors no matter where he goes. Now that he is with the Washington Wizards, there are still rumors of him getting traded. The biggest one has been the Golden State Warriors actively pursuing him in the trade market.

Despite that, it seems the Wizards want to keep hold of him. Even Davis himself seems ready to play in DC, which is a promising commitment because the Wizards have some talented players on the current roster.

Anthony Davis is apparently staying put with the Wizards

As one of the most talented big men in the league, it is normal for teams to want Davis in a trade. In the 2025-26 season, he was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Wizards, as the latter saw the upside.

While Davis is 33 now, he is still an effective big man due to his offensive skill set and generational defensive instincts. At Washington, he could be set for a big season, especially with Trae Young as his point guard now.

Wizards general manager Will Dawkins has been quite vocal about his team's plans over the past few months. Now, he has debunked all the rumors surrounding Davis.

"We kinda don't worry too much about that stuff. AD's in DC, he wants to be in DC, we're going to keep him there. I think the important thing for us, building on the summer, and making sure we're ready to go for the year," Dawkins said on SiriusXM NBA Radio.

"He was out here with all our guys. Every single guy on the roster was here for the first game... It will be a fun summer; we'll have the conversation when we're allowed to have that conversation. The plan is to be big and to be skilled."

Dawkins seems ready to keep building this team with the current core in mind. There might be some distinct differences with the players' ages, but it seems Davis could still be a contributor despite being an older player.
