Angel Reese hauled in her 1,000th career rebound as only she could

Angel Reese on Saturday solidified her place as one of the greatest rebounders in the history of the WNBA.

It may seem wild to say that, given Reese has played only 79 games of professional basketball. But her latest milestone is one that can't be ignored.

With 4:31 to go in the third quarter of Saturday's blockbuster showdown in Atlanta between the Dream and the Indiana Fever, Reese cleaned up Allisha's Gray's missed layup with an offensive board and a strong putback.

That made it 70-65 Dream, as part of a dominant quarter that they won 28-15.

Reese reached the 1,000-rebound achievement a full 10 games faster than Tina Charles, a former MVP who is the second-leading scorer in WNBA history.

Charles is routinely regarded as one of the greatest players the league has ever seen, and certainly the greatest never to play in the WNBA Finals.

While Reese will hope that her trade to Atlanta will preface a championship, she's already well on track to be regarded as one of the best players of her time.

After all, she's already a historic rebounder, a true master of the glass.
