Atlanta Braves selecting contract of 17-year MLB Player before Giants game

The Atlanta Braves are in the middle of a three-game series with the Giants.

On Wednesday, before the Braves-Giants game, Atlanta is making a pair of roster moves ahead of the contest. According to Chad Bishop of the AJC, the Braves are selecting the contract of 17-year MLB pitcher Carlos Carrasco.... again.

Carlos Carrasco has become a mainstay with the Braves organization over the past two seasons and is perhaps the most predictable roster move in the entire sport.

The other roster move is recalling Jair Camargo from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Braves Select Carlos Carrasco, Jair Camargo to MLB Club

MLBTradeRumors.com's Darragh McDonald recently outlined the Braves-Carlos Carrasco love affair:

"The 39-year-old Carrasco has been on and off the roster all year long. He and the club clearly have an understanding about a relationship they are both comfortable with. As a veteran with years and years of service time, he can’t be optioned to the minors. Instead, he has been repeatedly added to the roster to give the club a fresh arm. After a short period of time, he is designated for assignment, clears waivers, elects free agency and then signs a new minor league deal."

Carlos Carrasco has pitched nine innings with the Braves this season, and he's surrendered three earned runs.

In the next few days, once this smoke clears for the Braves and their pitching staff, Carrasco will likely be DFA'd once again. Carrasco has pitched in parts of 17 MLB seasons with the Braves, New York Mets, Yankees, and Cleveland Guardians (formerly Indians when he pitched for them).
