The Atlanta Braves are sitting atop the NL East, and while the Philadelphia Phillies have been making up some ground, there's reason to believe in this Braves team being the best team in the division, and one of the best in all of MLB.
But, they're going to have to keep their division lead over the next few weeks without Ronald Acuna Jr., as he sustained a hamstring injury in the same spot as his previous hamstring issue earlier this season.
A recent update from MLB.com's Mark Bowman from manager Walt Weiss made things a lot worse for the Braves as well, as Acuna is reportedly a "long way" from returning to the Braves roster with this hamstring issue.
Braves' Ronald Acuna Jr. is 'long way' from injury return
"Weiss said Acuna is a 'long way' from returning," Bowman reports. "Because the hamstring strain is in the same spot, the Braves will be more cautious than they were when Acuna missed nearly three weeks with the previous strain."
This is not the kind of update the Braves were hoping for, as Acuna is now confirmed to be set to miss quite some time this season.
He already missed three weeks earlier this season, and now this hamstring injury is going to keep him out for even longer.
Atlanta being cautious with Acuna is the right decision, but it doesn't change that this is a concerning issue for the Braves.

They're going to have to operate without Acuna for a month, or maybe even longer, depending on how Acuna recovers from this hamstring strain.
With Michael Harris II getting hurt recently as well, the Braves are not operating without their two top outfielders, both of whom are top-six in All-Star voting this season.
The Acuna injury update from Weiss here is not good news, and is a bit brutal for the Braves superstar outfielder.
He landed on the injured list on June 10, and if he's going to miss more than three weeks, he might not return for the Braves until after the All-Star break in the middle of July. It's going to be a while before Acuna is back in the lineup for the Braves.
