Caitlin Clark gives fans chance to find unreleased signature shoes in Chicago

1 hour ago 2

Caitlin Clark is bringing a special surprise to Chicago for WNBA All-Star weekend. The Indiana Fever star announced Friday that she is giving away five pairs of her unreleased Nike Caitlin 1 signature shoes throughout the weekend. Some fans will receive the sneakers through in-person giveaways, while others will have to search Chicago for hidden drop-offs.

“Giving away 5 pairs of my new Caitlin 1s!” Clark wrote on her Instagram story. “This weekend during All-Star in Chicago, Illinois.”

Clark followed up by explaining that fans should be prepared for more than one kind of giveaway.

“In-person giveaways and hidden drop offs,” she wrote.

The promotion creates a rare opportunity for fans in Chicago to get their hands on Clark’s first signature basketball shoe more than two months before its scheduled public release.

How fans can get Caitlin Clark’s new Nike shoes

Clark did not immediately provide the exact locations or times for the giveaways, meaning fans in Chicago will need to keep a close eye on her social media accounts throughout All-Star weekend.

The mention of “hidden drop offs” suggests Clark could release clues directing fans to different locations around the city. Other pairs will apparently be handed out personally, giving some supporters a chance to meet the Fever guard while receiving one of the most anticipated basketball shoes of the year. Only five pairs are being made available during the promotion, making them especially difficult to secure.

The Nike Caitlin 1 is not scheduled to launch to the general public until Oct. 1. The adult version will reportedly cost $140, while youth sizes will be priced at $115. Fans fortunate enough to find one of Clark’s hidden pairs will therefore receive the shoes well before they begin appearing on store shelves.

Clark shows off latest Caitlin 1 colorway

Clark arrived in Chicago wearing the “White Label LX Promo” version of the Caitlin 1, a clean colorway that quickly attracted attention from fans. The Fever shared another look at the shoes Friday.

“CC rockin’ the Caitlin 1 ‘White Label LX Promo’ at All-Star Weekend,” the team wrote on X.

Nike and Clark have already revealed or teased several different versions of the Caitlin 1. The lineup includes Blue Racer, Snow White, Purple and Yellow Zest colorways. Black and “Grinch” editions have also generated interest online. The shoe represents another major milestone in Clark’s partnership with Nike. She announced the Caitlin 1 in June and has since worn different versions during games and public appearances.

Clark entered the All-Star break averaging 21.0 points, 7.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. Her play helped Indiana reach the break with a 17-10 record, but her influence continues to stretch well beyond the court. Her signature shoe is expected to be one of Nike’s most closely watched basketball releases this fall. The Chicago giveaway should only increase the anticipation.

For fans attending WNBA All-Star weekend, the message is simple: Watch Clark’s social media closely and be ready to move. One of five unreleased pairs of Caitlin 1s could be waiting somewhere in the city.
