Caitlin Clark delivered the greatest scoring performance in Indiana Fever history on Friday night. Clark erupted for a franchise-record 45 points and added 10 assists as Indiana survived a wild 110-107 victory over the Seattle Storm at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Fever star became the first player in WNBA history to record at least 40 points and 10 assists in a single game, adding another unprecedented accomplishment to her growing résumé.
Indiana needed every bit of Clark’s historic performance. Seattle shot 57 percent from the field, scored 56 points in the first half and carried an 88-82 advantage into the fourth quarter. Clark responded by taking control down the stretch and pushing the Fever across the finish line in front of 17,274 fans.
Caitlin Clark makes WNBA history against Seattle
Clark entered Friday averaging 19.7 points and 7.7 assists, but she had not scored more than 24 points in any of her previous five appearances. She blew past that total against Seattle.
Clark finished 11-of-18 from the field, 6-of-10 from 3-point range and 17-of-19 at the free-throw line. She also collected four steals and blocked one shot while playing only 29 minutes. The Fever celebrated when Clark initially reached 41 points, which broke the previous franchise scoring record.
“FRANCHISE-RECORD 41 POINTS FOR CAITLIN CLARK,” the Fever posted on social media. “CC is the first player in WNBA history with 40+ points & 10+ assists in a single game.”
— Indiana Fever (@IndianaFever) July 18, 2026Clark was not finished. She added four more points before the final buzzer to establish the new Indiana record at 45.
“FIRST 40-POINT & 10-ASSIST GAME IN WNBA HISTORY,” the Fever wrote. “CAITLIN. CLARK. IS. HER.”
It was a remarkable turnaround for Clark after a frustrating performance in Wednesday’s 88-75 loss to the Golden State Valkyries. She scored 13 points in that game while shooting 4-of-14 from the field and 1-of-8 from beyond the arc.
Two nights later, Clark authored one of the most productive offensive games the league has ever seen.
Fever survive Seattle’s upset bid
Indiana appeared ready to take control early, scoring 37 points in the opening quarter and building a lead that reached 17. Seattle refused to go away. The Storm scored 30 points in the second quarter and 32 more in the third, turning an early deficit into a six-point lead entering the final period. Seattle center Dominique Malonga caused problems throughout the night, finishing with 28 points and 14 rebounds on 13-of-22 shooting.
Indiana’s defense had few answers as the Storm converted 43 of their 76 field-goal attempts. Natisha Hiedeman added eight assists, while Seattle received double-digit scoring efforts from multiple players. The Fever eventually found enough stops to give Clark an opportunity to change the game. Indiana outscored Seattle 28-19 in the fourth quarter, overcoming the deficit and narrowly avoiding what would have been a disappointing home loss to the last-place team in the Western Conference.
Seattle had an opportunity to tie the game in the closing seconds, but the Storm could not connect from beyond the arc.
Indiana overcame a 35-26 disadvantage on the boards by taking better care of the ball and repeatedly getting to the free-throw line. The Fever committed 13 turnovers compared to Seattle’s 18 and made 28 of their 31 attempts at the stripe.
Makayla Timpson led Indiana with nine rebounds, eight of which came on the offensive glass.

Clark delivers before another quick turnaround
The victory improved Indiana to 15-10 and kept the Fever near the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Clark’s performance was even more impressive considering she entered the game while continuing to manage an ongoing back issue. She had been limited to fewer than 30 minutes in five consecutive appearances before Friday and was coming off a hard fall that left her with a leg contusion against Golden State.
Neither issue prevented her from producing the first 45-point game of her WNBA career. Indiana will not have much time to celebrate. The Fever are scheduled to host the New York Liberty on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET, less than 24 hours after completing Friday’s thriller.
How much Clark plays on the second night of the back-to-back remains to be seen. What she did against Seattle, however, will be remembered for a long time.
