Caitlin Clark signature shoe, explained: Fever star to debut Nike Caitlin 1 vs. Angel Reese, Atlanta Dream

1 hour ago 3

Since Caitlin Clark signed with Nike in 2022, when she was a rising star at Iowa, she appeared destined to become a massive figure in the shoe company's marketing.

Clark repped Nike from her time as a sensation in college, then into the WNBA as the No. 1 pick to the Fever in 2024 and a star in the pros since then. In August 2025, Nike made its plans to make Clark a "signature athlete" official — and since then, fans have been patiently waiting for details about her first shoe.

While they can't yet purchase a pair, fans no longer have to wonder how Clark's first shoe will look. Not only did she recently share the details of the "Nike Caitlin 1," but on Thursday in Fever vs. Dream, Clark is set to debut her new shoe in WNBA action.

Here's everything to know about Clark's new signature Nike shoe.

Caitlin Clark signature shoe, explained

Plans for Clark to have her own signature shoe have been anticipated since August 2025, which is when Nike officially made her a "signature" athlete — meaning the launch of her own logo, apparel and eventually, a signature sneaker. At the time, Nike said Clark's shoe would arrive in 2026.

The wait wasn't terribly long, as in mid-June, Clark and Nike showcased the first look at the "Caitlin 1."

"This is like your debut album, you want it to be killer," Clark told ESPN of her shoe.

Clark had dropped plenty of hints that her shoe was on the way, including changing her Instagram profile picture and wearing an all-blue outfit to a recent game against Toronto.

"I wanted this to be something that looked different than something that's on the shelves," Clark said in a statement, per ESPN, "but I also wanted it to be something that people are comfortable wearing. I got really crazy and expressive with the colors, and I think that kind of speaks to my love for inspiring the next generation and how they love to express themselves.

"A lot of it speaks to different parts of my life and different parts of my journey."

Clark's shoe, according to Nike, uses a new "Nike Opticast" technology that is designed to "reduce drag and enhance on-court movement." Additionally, per ESPN, the shoe includes details like the stacked Swooshes being designed to mimic Clark's initials, nodes on the outside of the foot being made of C's, the inside being made with 2's to represent her jersey number, plus underfoot messages that read "Shoot More Threes," "From Anywhere" and "It was never a long shot."

"There's a lot of different Easter eggs all over the shoes that people can search through the shoe and kind of find," Clark said, per ESPN. "The shoe looks one way when you're watching me on the court, but when you physically hold it in your hand and see it up close, there's a lot of little discoverables for the consumer, which I think is really fun too."

On Thursday, Clark was then seen carrying her own pair of Caitlin 1s into Indiana's game against Atlanta, presumably set to debut them on the court:

When will the Nike Caitlin 1 be available to buy?

Fans will have to wait a bit longer to get their own pairs of Caitlin 1s, as they will officially launch at  10:00 a.m. ET on Thursday, October 1, 2026. On that day, the shoe will become available on the Nike SNKRS app and at select retailers

In North America, Nike's Caitlin 1 shoe will cost $140, and in the rest of the world, it will be $135.

Clark does, however, have an apparel collection with Nike that is already available.
