Cubs legend Kerry Wood threw mind-blowing behind-the-back pitch for Savannah Bananas

Kerry Wood pitched at Wrigley Field on Saturday night.

The Chicago Cubs legend did it while wearing the bright yellow uniform of the Savannah Bananas.

Banana-Ball brings back fan favorites from the cities they're playing in to get back on the field, and Wood got that honor at Wrigley.

That would've been cool as is, but then Wood did something absolutely mind-blowing.

From the regular pitching rubber, which is 60 feet and 6 inches away from home plate, he threw a pitch behind-the-back.

And not only did he throw it -- it landed in the zone for a perfect strike:

To say this is unbelievable would be just a bit too strong of a word, but it's still pretty darn crazy.

Every little aspect of this requires a bit more skill, from the motion to the direction to the strength to the fluidity of it all.

To have it end up in the strike zone is the cherry on top of the sundae.

Wood surely practiced this ahead of time. If he somehow had just pulled this rabbit out of a hat on his first try, that'd be even wilder.

But even with practice, it's mighty impressive.

Wood once struck out 20 batters in a start at Wrigley Field, and this doesn't quite rise to that level.

Still, it's pretty dang cool.
