The Odyssey isn't even out yet, but it's already being criticized — including by Elon Musk.

If you missed it, Elon previously took issue with Lupita Nyongo's casting in the upcoming Christopher Nolan adaptation. The Kenyan-Mexican actor plays both Helen of Troy — famous described in Greek mythology as the most beautiful woman in the world — and her sister, Clytemnestra — which Elon criticized for "DEI" reasons.

He also responded after an X user claimed Lupita's casting proved "the story was never the point and an insult to the author." He replied, "Chris Nolan has lost his integrity."

Alec Baldwin defended Lupita at the time, writing on Instagram, "Dear Elon… but she IS the most beautiful woman in the world." But Elon hasn't let up on criticizing the film.

Now, he's getting attention again after making a negative tweet about the historian Tom Holland.

On Tuesday, Tom praised the film before sharing a link to an article highlighting other positive reviews ahead of its July 17 theatrical release. He wrote, "More praise for The Odyssey from people who - shockingly - have actually waited to see it before giving their opinion."

An X user then quote-tweeted Tom's post and declared, "This might be the worst movie ever made," to which Elon replied, "Tom Holland is such a cuck."

Tom wasted little time responding. Writing over Elon's post, he wrote, "Very happy to say it again. The Odyssey is an amazing film, and missing out on seeing it because you think it's woke or whatever is cutting off your nose to spite your face." He then added, "Your loss."

The exchange quickly went viral, with Tom's response earning over 50,000 likes compared to Elon's tweet and tons of praise from viewers.

One person wrote on Reddit, "tom holland is my historian goat," while another called Elon's comments "fucking disgusting."

"Tom seems like a class act," someone else said. "When they go low, go high."

Another simply added, "W Tom Holland."

People also roasted Elon, with one person joking that he "100%" thought he was tweeting about the actor Tom Holland, who plays Odysseus's son, Telemachus.

Many also made fun of Elon for getting ratioed on the very platform he owns. "Imagine being the richest man in the world and still getting ratio’d on a platform you own," one person wrote. "That's hilarious," another added.

The whole thing also made some people even more eager to see the film, with one commenter writing, "I can't wait to see this movie, my lord."

Tom, meanwhile, seemed super unbothered by the whole thing. Offering a final word on the matter, he tweeted, "if you like Nolan's other films, you will love The Odyssey. If you didn't like them, then miss it."
