The World Cup has been an exciting display of competition so far, and that will only continue in a quarterfinal match between England and Norway.
The Three Lions are coming off an exhausting win over Mexico in Mexico City, as they handed El Tri a rare loss at its home stadium of Estadio Azteca. Now, England hopes to continue that momentum with just three wins separating them and the World Cup title.
England's team is of course star-studded, but Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham have separated from the pack to help carry the team with 10 of the team's 11 goals thus far. Kane, specifically, had two goals to help overcome Congo DR in the Round of 32, while Bellingham's brace and late defense was crucial in England's 3-2 win over Mexico.
However, England faces perhaps its toughest individual test on Saturday as Norway comes in with dominant scorer Erling Haaland dominating teams on its path.
Haaland's seven goals are tied with Kylian Mbappe for the second most in the entire tournament, and no other player on the team has more than one. Haaland scored twice in Norway's 2-1 upset over Brazil, and his finishing presence is a unique challenge for England to handle.
Norway is only in the World Cup for the fourth time ever and, thanks to Haaland's performances, the team is in the quarterfinal round for the first time in its history. Therefore, the team is moving forward with nothing to lose, which is dangerous for a squad that has such an imposing player.
Whomever wins this match will face the winner of Argentina vs. Switzerland on Wednesday in the second semifinal in Atlanta.
