Last week, it was reported that the actor — who's also the daughter of legendary director Martin Scorsese — will appear in the second season of Prime Video's Mr. & Ms. Smith.

But after reposting the announcement on TikTok, the comments quickly filled up with negative responses. While some called out nepotism in Hollywood, others targeted Francesca's appearance directly — prompting her to address the backlash in a candid TikTok.

“Hey, so I have to say that on my most recent repost about this new amazing role that I just got, it has some of the worst comments I have ever seen about me,” she began.

Francesca explained that although she's received hate "for years," this felt like "something else."

"And majority is always picking on looks or another nepo baby. I understand. I know I have doors opened for me," she said. "I’m still trying to do the work, I’m still going hard and being passionate and creating and doing the work. But I think if you go on people’s videos and you seek out negativity, you are a very, very sad person."

Francesca, 26, went on to share some of the comments she's received.

"Comparing me to a fridge or Miss Piggy or saying I have a face for radio and that I’m incredibly ugly and fat…I get it. I’m not the most beautiful girl in the world. I’m not the skinniest girl in the world. I’m chubby, I know it. But, like, what the fuck does it matter?"
"Go outside on the street, look at people around you. Look at your mom, look at your fucking sisters," she continued. "I just don't understand how hard it is to be a kind human being."

Francesca also said the hateful comments sadly weren't just limited to her casting announcement and are seen on "all" of her posts.

"It's making me so sad — not for myself, it's making me sad for other people," she said, before telling her followers that she planned on logging offline for the rest of the day.

Many people flooded the comments with supportive words afterward. Ashley Benson wrote, "Haters gonna hate baby," before calling Francesca a "gem."

"You are beautiful in every way," added actor Chloe Cherry. "you have passion, knowledge and talent. Every person saying those things are jealous and have no idea what it's actually like to live the life you have. It's all projection of their insecurities. I know for a fact you work very hard."

Fellow actor Brittany Furlan agreed, writing, "Ppl project their own misery. Head high bb."

Well said! Francesca is gorgeous, and the haters are just miserable.
