Getty ImagesGoogle has launched its second major sale of 2025 by giving the entire Pixel 9 range one of its biggest discounts yet.
With the Samsung Galaxy S25 now officially out in the wild, the price war will intensify over the coming months as manufacturers battle it out for your money. As ever, don’t buy phones when they’re launched because they will dramatically drop in price just months after release. This is Google’s fourth major sale for the Pixel 9 series since they landed in August.
The latest sale is on Google’s U.K. store and knocks hundreds of pounds off the entire series.

The promotion covers all smartphones Google is selling right now. The £200 off the Pixel 9 Pro models is a solid deal and a big price cut off the latest tech. But the Pixel 8a and Pixel 8 Pro discounts caught my eye the most.
The former is now down to £349 ($433.56), which an excellent price for a phone that takes some of the best still photography on the market (although there’s no telephoto lens) and has access to most of Google’s AI tools. The Pixel 9a is around the corner, which partially explains the deep discount, but the 8a is still a very good choice if you’re on a tight budget.

The Pixel 8 Pro is similarly worth your attention. It has five years of software support left and some of the best photography on the market (including a 5x optical zoom and a telephoto lens). The kicker is that the Pixel 8 Pro has access to most of the Pixel 9’s AI features, such as video boost and Add Me.
With mobile AI becoming more ubiquitous, the gap between current and older flagship devices—that are just a year apart—is shrinking. Samsung has been updating older phones with a slew of Galaxy AI features, while Apple has added Apple Intelligence to the iPhone 15 Pro range after it launched with the iPhone 16. All now offer long software support, too. This changes the value of these 2023 (and beyond) flagships and makes them far more attractive to buy, especially as the price of phones falls so sharply 12 months after release.
