Before you scroll any further, I am BEGGING you to stop and turn on Season 1 of The Night Agent on Netflix if you haven't seen it already. Why? Because it's an exciting, well-done thriller and I don't want any Season 2 spoilers below to ruin your experience!
Now, for everyone else who watched Season 1 and has been anxiously waiting for Season 2, here's a breakdown of what to know before watching the new season:
Where did Season 1 leave off?
In Season 1, we met Peter Sutherland, a low-level FBI agent working in the basement of the White House answering the "Night Action" phone, aka the line secret agents call when they're in trouble and need assistance.
We then watched Peter, along with civilian (and sometimes love interest) Rose Larkin, figure out who the mole in the White House was, just in time for him to save President Travers from a plot to kill her.
In the final scenes of the season, Peter is rewarded by the president with a position as an actual Night Agent.
The newest season kicks off nine months after the Season 1 finale in Thailand as Peter is squarely in the middle of his first Night Action mission. Of course, things immediately go awry and Peter and Rose once again find themselves in the middle of a conspiracy. According to Netflix, "working in the secretive organization Night Action in Season 2 will push Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply."
Which main characters are returning?
Which new characters are we meeting?
With almost 14 new characters (from lead to supporting), here's a look at a few of the bigger characters we're getting this season:
