Few sides have captivated audiences quite like DR Congo, one of the continent's most notable outfits.

The Leopards showcased their gifts in an enchanting 1-1 draw with heavily-favored Portugal, dancing across the pitch with intricate passing, fast feet and a wondrous Yoane Wissa strike.

Two games later, the Leopards are in the hat for the Round of 32, having downed Uzbekistan in dramatic fashion.

How DR Congo made first-ever World Cup knockout stage

With DR Congo trailing 1-0 early in the second half, there were doubts that the Leopards could secure a spot in the Round of 32.

Then, Yoane Wissa came to life, stroking a penalty into the side of the net to breathe life into what once appeared a dour DR Congo effort.

Tanzanian Premier League star Fiston Mayele was the next to strike, ripping a shot beyond Uzbek goalkeeper Abduvohid Nematov to deliver a deserved lead to DR Congo's side. With his strike, Mayele became the first player bred in that league to light the scoresheet in a World Cup.

Wissa settled things for good with a wondrous strike from distance, whipping the ball beyond an outstretched Nematov and into the bottom corner.
