How Dream's Brionna Jones picked up Angel Reese and became an unlikely hero in last-gasp win

Angel Reese endured a tough 3-of-13 shooting game against the Chicago Sky on Sunday. The Atlanta Dream left the game after rolling her left ankle and scored only eight points in 20 minutes.

Fortunately, her All-Star frontcourt partner was on hand with a game-saving play to move the Dream into a tie with the Indiana Fever for first place in the Eastern Conference.

In the dying seconds of her second game back from knee surgery, Brionna Jones walled off three Chicago Sky defenders with a picture-perfect screen to allow Jordin Canada to walk in a game-winning layup.

Though the Dream blew a 22-point lead at home to the lowly Sky, Atlanta secured a thrilling 93-91 win at Gateway Center anyway -- thanks in large part to Jones' super screen.

Like Reese, Jones struggled from the floor and made only one of her six shot attempts in 15 minutes.

However, the four-time All-Star hauled in 10 rebounds, and the Dream had a gaudy 123 offensive rating when she was on the floor.

Getting a healthy Jones back in the starting lineup after the All-Star break could swing the Dream's fortunes -- and the WNBA playoff race as a whole.

After a blazing 12-4 start, Atlanta has fallen back to the pack with a 4-6 record over its past 10. The Dream though are going into the 10-day break having won three in a row, and Jones' return makes Karl Smesko's squad whole again.

Though Atlanta took the scenic route there, Sunday's win over the Sky -- capped by Jones and Canada's heroics -- could mean more to the Dream than you might think.
