If You're A Sucker For Sweet, Sweet Revenge, These Vertical Dramas Are About To Completely Take Over Your Life

1 hour ago 1

Vertical dramas are the new 'it' girl on the internet, and the range these have is actually mind-boggling. I have already told you the best LGBTQ+ vertical dramas, the best smutty vertical dramas, and the best messy romance vertical dramas, so of course I had to move on to a category that I think we all love seeing served cold: revenge. Because I firmly believe there's nothing more satisfying than watching someone get exactly what they deserve.

Here are 8 of the best revenge-driven vertical dramas to watch if you love seeing karma do its thing.

1. You Belong With Me on ReelShort

I don't know what it says about me, but the moment I read the plot for this one, I was all in. Kristine decides to get revenge on her cheating fiancé by seducing his rich uncle (yes, you read that right). After catching Eric in bed with her adopted sister, Kristine is understandably done with everyone around her. So she does what any self-respecting vertical drama protagonist would do and sets her sights on Henry Lockwood, Eric's uncle, a powerful CEO, and the heir to the family fortune. Half the fun is watching Kristine try to keep Henry hidden from Eric's surprise visits while their revenge arrangement slowly starts turning into something real. Something tells me y'all are going to eat this one up.

2. 30 Days Till I Marry My Husband's Nemesis on ReelShort

I know "going back in time to get revenge" isn't exactly a new concept, but stay with me. Blair is murdered by her husband and his mistress, who also happens to be her cousin, after they decide her family fortune is worth killing for. But instead of staying dead, she wakes up five years in the past with all her memories intact and a chance to rewrite everything. Naturally, Blair's plan isn't just to avoid her fate—it's to completely destroy the people who betrayed her. To do that, she teams up with Nathan Forbes, a billionaire who just so happens to be her ex-husband's biggest rival, and proposes a contract marriage. This one has revenge, time travel, AND a fake marriage, so obviously I was sold.

And if you're still not convinced, here's a quick snippet from the trailer:

3. CEO Queen: A Mother’s Revenge on ReelShort

This one's a little different because we're not dealing with exes getting revenge on each other for once. Instead, it's about a mother finally getting payback after her own children betray her. Mary spends years living a quiet life, only to suffer a brain hemorrhage and discover that most of her adopted children care more about her money than whether she survives. The only exception is her youngest daughter, Grace, who does everything she can to save her. But what her ungrateful children don't know is that Mary is secretly the CEO of a massive corporate empire. And once that truth comes out, things start going very badly for the people who wronged her. I won't lie, a big part of the fun here is watching everyone underestimate Mary right until the moment they realize who she really is. Didn't see that coming, did you?

4. Revenge Puck on DramaBox

I knew I had to include this one because I know just how much hockey has been in the conversation ever since we were blessed with Off Campus and Garret Graham's presence on our screens. So if you've been looking for something that scratches that same hockey-player itch, this might be your next watch. The drama kicks off when Lucy is dumped and cheated on by her hockey-star boyfriend, Adam, right before the championship playoffs. As if that wasn't bad enough, he tells her she was never "hot enough" to be a hockey player's girlfriend and insists they were never exclusive in the first place. Lucy decides she's not going to let that slide. Instead, she teams up with Blake, Adam's biggest rival on the ice, and the two agree to fake-date until the playoffs are over just to completely throw Adam off his game.

And because I know some of y'all are already reaching for your phones, here's a snippet from the first couple of episodes:

5. Your Love Broke My Heart on ReelShort

Fair warning: this one is a lot darker than the other dramas on this list. It starts with Seraph believing she has a pretty great life—she has a successful husband, a childhood best friend she trusts completely, and a sister she adores. Then, on her 28th birthday, everything falls apart when her sister is brutally murdered. What makes this story so infuriating, though, isn't just the crime itself. It's the fact that the two people Seraph trusts most actively help the killer walk free. Her husband uses his influence as a lawyer to get the accused acquitted, while her childhood friend, a detective, destroys crucial evidence. Instead of accepting defeat, Seraph plays along, pretends to submit, and waits for the perfect moment to strike back. The second she publicly rejects the narrative being forced on her and vows revenge, you know things are about to get messy.

6. Ballerina Reborn For Revenge on DramaBox

This drama throws two sisters into a time loop after one of them literally murders the other on her wedding day. After Amelia's jealousy leads her to kill Katherine on her engagement day, both sisters find themselves sent back to childhood with all their memories intact. Knowing exactly how their lives played out the first time around, they make completely different choices in an attempt to change their destinies. Well, Katherine does. Amelia mostly uses her second chance to continue being her sister's biggest hater.

Here's a little something from the first episode:

7. Son in Law's Revenge on ReelShort

I know what you're thinking: "How many times can a vertical drama do the secret billionaire reveal?" Apparently, the answer is A LOT. Leo spends most of this drama being treated like absolute garbage by his wife's wealthy family. They mock his job, call him a loser, force him to do humiliating chores, and spend every waking moment trying to convince their daughter that she deserves someone richer. Things reach peak absurdity when they practically try to hand her over to a wealthy executive while treating Leo like he doesn't belong in the room. Just when everyone thinks they've finally crushed him, Leo's business associates arrive and reveal that he's actually the heir to a massive fortune. Watching the entire family realize they've spent years bullying the one person who could buy them ten times over is exactly as entertaining as it sounds.

And just in case you're not sold yet, here's a snippet from the trailer that sealed the deal for me:

8. Divorced, Now a Lycan Princess on DramaBox

You'd be crazy to think that I was going to end this list without adding at least one werewolf fantasy vertical drama. This one follows Aria, who is already having a terrible day when she discovers her Alpha husband, Julian, has been cheating on her. To make matters worse, she finds out while she's pregnant and preparing to share the news with him. Instead, she's forced to watch his pregnant mistress flaunt their affair in front of reporters. After a series of events reveal her extraordinary healing powers, Aria learns that she is actually the long-lost daughter of the Lycan King. Suddenly, the woman everyone underestimated turns out to be werewolf royalty with powers that most people thought were impossible.

You guessed it: now it's time for a snippet from episode one:

Now that you have eight juicy vertical dramas dripping in revenge, I think you know exactly what you should be doing this weekend. And if there's a revenge-driven vertical drama you swear by that didn't make the list, let me know in the comments. Who knows, it might just end up on my watchlist next!
