Looking at the New York Jets' record for the 2025-26 season, it didn't look pretty. It was downright ugly, actually. Nobody goes into the NFL saying, "Geez, I hope to get a 3-14 record this season."
But, that was the reality for Aaron Glenn and his team. Thankfully, it wasn't all bad news in 2025, and that means there's hope for the 2026 season.
Last season, of course, was Glenn's first year on the team. While some first-year coaches had success, like Ben Johnson, that's just not what happens for a lot of early coaches, Glenn being one of them.
Aaron Glenn and the New York Jets actually had good news last season
So, what do the Jets have to do this season to be bigger and better? Matt Okada of the NFL's official website has a feature out naming what each NFL team has to do in 2026. For the Jets, he has some advice but gives the team big props for their offense. He wants the Jets to up their game on the interior offensive line.
"The Jets won just three games in 2025, but their offseason was extremely productive, addressing several of their most glaring needs," he says, sending a compliment their way. He adds that "the biggest unaddressed issue is the interior of the offensive line, particularly center and left guard."
He suggests that the Jets consider free-agent veteran guard Kevin Zeitler "at a major discount" this coming season to help beef up the inside of their offensive line. It's not a bad idea and one that Glenn should look into before September hits and the lights come up in New York.
