While various players from across the league's landscape have spent the offseason recruiting LeBron James to their respective squads, Jalen Brunson took the opposite approach.
During an appearance at Fanatics Fest, Brunson revealed that he didn't recruit James to New York at all after leading the Knicks to their first NBA title in over 50 years. He said he leaves the pitching up to the front office.
"My job is to put the ball in the hoop and try to play a little defense," Brunson said. "There are people above me who determine who's on the team and who's not. I'll leave the pitching to them."
Jalen Brunson asked if he’s tried to recruit LeBron to the Knicks:

Brunson recruiting James might not have made a difference anyway, because the Knicks apparently eliminated themself from contention in the James sweepstakes by winning the NBA title in June, according to James' agent, Rich Paul.
If they hadn't won the title, James would have gone to New York, but he didn't want to join a reigning champion, for obvious reasons.
"If the Knicks hadn't won, there would be no board," Paul said. "He'd be going to the Knicks."
