Nearly every week, Jennie of Blackpink fame makes history on the Billboard charts thanks to the highest-profile collaboration of her solo career. Earlier this year, she teamed up with Tame Impala – the musical moniker of Kevin Parker – to remix his single "Dracula." The cross-genre tune has become one of the biggest hits all around the world in 2026, and it lives on Billboard tallies focused on electronic and dance music, pop, and both rock and alternative songs.
This period, "Dracula" climbs to No. 1 on the Pop Airplay chart, becoming the first leader on the top 40 ranking for both Jennie and Tame Impala. As it dominates one of the most competitive radio rosters in America, "Dracula" helps Jennie make history, and at the same time, Blackpink.
Blackpink Makes History on the Pop Airplay Chart
Billboard reports Blackpink is now only the fourth group in the history of the Pop Airplay chart to see multiple members score No. 1s as soloists. Rosé reached the top spot in February of last year with the "Apt." collaboration with Bruno Mars. That track spent an entire month running the show. Half of all the members of Blackpink have now topped the Pop Airplay ranking on their own.
Destiny’s Child Also Scored Two Solo Leaders
Two additional groups have also seen a pair of singers climb to No. 1 on the Pop Airplay chart apart from the bands that made them famous. From Destiny's Child, Kelly Rowland scored a single leader more than 20 years ago. In September 2002, "Dilemma," a team-up with rapper Nelly, spent five weeks on top.
Beyoncé has scored seven No. 1s. That roundup includes her own "Irreplaceable," as well as "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," and multiple collaborations: "Crazy in Love" with now-husband Jay-Z, "Baby Boy" with Sean Paul, "Check on It" with Slim Thug, "Telephone," fronted by Lady Gaga, as well as Ed Sheeran's "Perfect," on which Beyoncé featured on a reworking that reached the top space.
Fifth Harmony Produced Several Champions
Another girl group, Fifth Harmony, also generated multiple soloists with No. 1s on the Pop Airplay chart. "Love Lies," Normani's first solo smash and a collaboration with Khalid, climbed to the highest spot. Camila Cabello, the first to leave the group, earned five champions: "Never Be the Same," "Havana" with Young Thug, "Señorita" with Shawn Mendes, "My Oh My" with DaBaby and "Bad Things," a team-up with Machine Gun Kelly (now MGK).
One Direction Leads All Groups with Four Members Hitting No. 1
Four of the five singers in One Direction have summited Billboard's Pop Airplay chart. Only Louis Tomlinson has thus far failed to reach the highest space.
Niall Horan, Zayn and Liam Payne all claim one leader. Zayn became the first to do so in 2016 with two-week ruler "Pillowtalk." Horan came next the following year with "Slow Hands." Amazingly, Payne replaced his former bandmate as his "Strip That Down," which also features Quavo, replaced "Slow Hands" in the top spot.
Harry Styles is unsurprisingly the most successful member of One Direction on the Pop Airplay chart. Four of his singles have reached the peak position. Two of them, "As It Was" and "Watermelon Sugar," controlled the roster for seven weeks, while "Adore You" and "Late Night Talking" only managed a single period in charge.
"Dracula" Rules Seven Billboard Charts
"Dracula" currently rules seven Billboard charts, but it only reaches the top spot on the Pop Airplay list for the first time. It is also steady on the throne on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, Hot Rock Songs, Hot Alternative Songs, Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Rock Streaming Songs and Dance Streaming Songs tallies.
