Kate Hudson Says She Regrets Turning Down "The Devil Wears Prada," And I Definitely Understand Why

Anne, as you probably know, starred in the 2006 megahit The Devil Wears Prada. The movie made over $326 million worldwide and earned two Oscar nominations (Best Costume Design courtesy of Patricia Field and a Best Actress nod for Meryl Streep's performance) — and there's apparently a sequel in the works as well.

Kate, on the other hand, turned down the role of Andrea Sachs before it eventually went to Anne — and, as you'd expect, that old maxim about hindsight being 20/20 certainly applies here.

During a recent interview on the Capital Breakfast radio show, Kate admitted that she ultimately should've accepted the role. “That was a bad call," she said. "It was a timing thing, it was one of those things where I couldn’t do it, and I should’ve made it happen, and I didn’t."

Kate went on to say that, even though she believes that "everything happens for a reason," she still believes that she "should've made that work."

“It’s funny. It’s waves of things that are happening and people shooting at different times,” she explained. “It’s not like you don’t do them because you don’t want to do them. It’s like, ‘Oh, you’re doing something else.’"

I'm sure it did! What I want to know is: Do you think The Devil Wears Prada would've been a different movie with Kate instead of Anne? Let us know in the comments (and be nice!).
