Kevin Garnett urges LeBron James to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers for one last run

Now that the NBA offseason is in full swing, major decisions are bound to happen. One of them is LeBron James deciding what to do for the 2026-27 season. He is a free agent, so he can go anywhere he wants, but the topic of conversation is where he wants to end up.

A return to the Los Angeles Lakers is likely because he seems settled in the city of Angels. However, it seems other people are urging him to make the move to certain teams, including NBA legend Kevin Garnett.

The spot that Garnett wants James to go to is a familiar one, and that is the Cleveland Cavaliers. It is the hometown team for LeBron, so it would be a storybook ending for his career.

However, it seems that LeBron noted that he did not want to go home just a few months ago. That could still change, especially with how the Cavs are looking right now, needing a true small forward to complete the puzzle.

It would be a beautiful ending to a legendary career because it would reaffirm his status as a legend in Cleveland and Ohio as a whole. That would be his third stint with the Cavaliers, something that people like Garnett would appreciate.

"If you're doing a farewell tour and this is his last hurrah, I would like to see him in Cleveland. Take a pay cut, go back somewhere," Garnett said on Ticket & The Truth with Paul Pierce.

While this is wishful thinking from Garnett, it seems James is not interested in returning home. The Lakers are the most likely choice, but other teams could make him interested, especially if they give him a good contract and not ask for a pay cut.
