Lakers get price tag on $97M wing Los Angeles has constantly shown interest in

Over the past few years, we've continued to hear a lot of the same noise around the Los Angeles Lakers and who they're interested in.

One player who continues to make a lot of sense for the Lakers is Herb Jones, a wing from the New Orleans Pelicans.

Jones, one of the better defenders in the NBA, isn't a great offensive player, though the Pelicans still hold him in very high regard, and according to the latest report, they're still looking for significant value in a potential trade.

“New Orleans, however, does continue to receive significant external trade interest in Murphy and Herb Jones, although league sources say that the Pels have also continued to maintain high thresholds for both players. In each case, sources say, New Orleans is asking for multiple first-round draft picks to part with them,” Jake Fischer wrote.

The Lakers have some assets to make a move, and going after a young player like Murphy would definitely be a decent decision. However, I don't think they should move on from everything they have in this deal.

The Lakers, unfortunately, have too many other holes they need to fix, and Jones doesn't give them all they need.
