Los Angeles Lakers superstar guard Luka Doncic named iconic NBA guard Michael Jordan as the player he'd love to face in a 1-on-1 matchup.
In a recent interview with Drafteados, Doncic did not hesitate when asked who he'd love to face off with in a 1-on-1.
“Michael Jordan, easy answer. He was an incredible player and I’d love to play against him," Doncic said.
The 27-year-old superstar has a close relationship with the six-time NBA champion, bound by his endorsement deal with Jordan Brand.
On top of that, Doncic grew up idolizing Jordan, and today, he is the premier Jumpman athlete. Doncic was the first European athlete to sign with Jordan Brand.
Jordan is Jordan, but the Lakers superstar is no slouch of his own and has established himself as one of the best offensive talents we've ever seen. One thing is certain: that matchup would be one to witness.
Lakers counting on healthy return from Luka Doncic
Doncic and the Lakers are coming off a tough ending to their season. While they earned the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference, winning three more regular season games than the previous season, they were without Doncic in the playoffs.
The All-NBA guard suffered a Grade 2 left hamstring strain late in the season, which forced him to miss the final 15 games of the regular season and the entire playoff run.
Health has not been on Doncic's side in the past two seasons. The hope and expectation is that he will come back with vengeance for the 2026-27 season with what he hopes is alongside a retooled roster.
