The LeBron James free agency talk is still going strong, and it's not really going to die down until he picks a team. But, in the meantime, James is living life to the fullest and making comments on things that have nothing to do with his NBA move.
It's no secret that James is a Caitlin Clark fan. He's been on her side amid the various criticism she's gotten in the WNBA over the years and considers her a player who has really shaped the modern WNBA.
So, when Clark hit a milestone on Friday night, James didn't stay quiet. He had to respond and, of course, send his congratulations.
LeBron James congratulates Caitlin Clark for making history
It takes a superstar to know one, and James notices one in Clark. On Friday, the Indiana Fever star made history by becoming the first player in the WNBA to record at least a 40-point and 10-assist game.
It didn't stop there. During Clark's huge performance against the Seattle Storm, she also became the fastest player in the history of the league to hit 200 career 3-pointers, according to research from the WNBA. She also notched a new Fever franchise scoring record by scoring 45 points. It doesn't get much more historic than that.
James saw what happened and took to social media to offer up his congratulations. On his official Instagram Stories, he shared a post about Clark's record-breaking night with a photo of her and the message, "Career-high 45 points and the most in Fever history for Caitlin Clark." The message went out to his 154 million followers on the platform.
So, James is proud of Clark and continues to offer his support for the rising WNBA star. The moment provided a little reverie as he makes his NBA career decision.
