Well, it didn’t have a whole lot of time on top of Netflix’s top 10 list, which would normally not be great for a new series, but Little House on the Prairie is doing better than it may initially look.
Yes, it has been knocked all the way down to #3 on Netflix’s top 10 list, but there is a catch: the two shows above it are actually live events. That would be the Home Run Derby, which somehow Netflix now has the rights to, and the ever-present WWE Raw. Given that such events are not watched more than once, they will quickly drop down the list. Little House on the Prairie has already passed Worst Neighbor Ever and I Will Find You before this, and there’s no reason it should not go back to #1, barring the release of a new, bigger show.
There is no need to nervously track the performance of Little House on the Prairie, however, given that the show was already renewed for season 2 before the first one even aired, a rarity for Netflix, but a move that expresses confidence in the series. So that’s good, in any case.

The rest of the list includes I’m Not Afraid, a new Mexican series about a young boy in a harrowing situation. It’s a 6-episode limited series, so a safe watch as it will not end on a cliffhanger, waiting to be renewed for more.
Further down we have Sullivan’s Crossing, which did okay, and has already been renewed for season 5, albeit this time with a new showrunner. After that is Avatar: The Last Airbender, which had a significant viewership drop after a long break and somewhat tepid reception for the animation adaptation. That too, however, has already been renewed for season 3, which will be its last. I am sensing a pattern here and again, I promise this does not happen all that often on Netflix, but perhaps it is learning.
Bringing up the rear is Salish and Jordan Matter, a kids show about a father and daughter having fun and pulling pranks on other kids. It’s now in its second season, and I can’t say I remember this appearing on the list previously. I am getting low-key, smaller-scale Mr. Beast vibes, a bit.
Nothing has changed with Little House on the Prairie’s review scores, but it has proven to be a well-watched, not especially controversial Netflix project despite reviving a beloved classic. Hopefully, season 2 won't take years to get here.
