Over the last few weeks, Anfield has started to become a carousel of exiting figures, with Ibrahima Konate, Mo Salah, Andy Robertson, and Arne Slot all departing Liverpool for one reason or another. For Salah, Konate, and Robertson, all three depart following the expiration of their contracts, while Slot was given the sack after what was a tricky season for the Reds.
But there was another rumored departure, as Curtis Jones was being linked with a move away from Merseyside, with the English midfielder being open to an exit in the summer transfer window. Among the teams interested in making a move for Jones was Inter Milan in the Serie A, who are looking to build on their Scudetto-winning campaign, going as far as suggesting a fee of €20 million at that point in time, which wasn't going to be enough for the Reds to endorse the move.

— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 21, 2026This wasn't going to stop the Italian side, as they returned to the negotiations, upping their bid to €25m, according to Fabrizio Romano, but this wouldn't be enough to get things going for Liverpool, as the English giants turned down the bid as they look for a higher bid. The Reds could be looking for a higher fee to raise some funds to fuel some transfer moves of their own, as their top target, Yan Diomande, is slated to be worth a six-figure move in the transfer market.
Looking at Jones' resume, a two-time Premier League winner, as well as getting involved in the creation of six goals last season, while recording 24 interceptions and 30 won tackles on the defensive end of the pitch, it's no wonder Liverpool values him so highly. These efforts weren't enough to catch the eye of England head coach Thomas Tuchel for the Three Lions' camp at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, so Jones will be all hands on deck for any move involving himself.
Inter Milan's interest in Jones and the potential for further talks between the Italian side and the Reds will be yet another storyline to watch in the months to come.
