Thanks to a healthy mix of anticipation, well-reviewed singles, and the fact that she will always be known as one of the biggest pop stars of all time, Madonna conquers the Billboard 200 again this week. Her latest full-length, Confessions II – an obviously-named follow-up to Confessions on a Dance Floor – starts its time on the list of the most-consumed albums and EPs in the United States at No. 1.
The Queen of Pop earns her milestone tenth champion, a sum that only the biggest and brightest in the music industry have also amassed, and she finds her way back to the top 10 on the hugely competitive rundown as Confessions II launches. Madonna breaks out of a tie with one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters of all time and moves up on an important historic ranking thanks to her latest release.
Confessions II Gives Madonna 24 Top 10s
Confessions II is not just another No. 1 for Madonna on the Billboard 200, but also, of course, one more top 10 success. The icon has now pushed 24 releases into the loftiest region on the chart, with a little less than half of them running the show for at least one frame.
Half a dozen titles by Madonna — The Immaculate Collection, Ray of Light, Erotica, Evita, I'm Breathless: Music From and Inspired by the Film Dick Tracy, and Rebel Heart — missed out on dominating by only one rung and inflating her already-historic roundup of champions.
Here are all of Madonna's top 10 albums on the Billboard 200.

Madonna Breaks Her Tie With Bob Dylan

Last week, before Confessions II hit the charts, Madonna was matched with Bob Dylan, as both had sent 23 projects, between traditional studio albums, live collections, and compilations, into the uppermost region on the Billboard 200. The pair were tied for the sixth-most top 10s in the decades-long history of the ranking. Now, Madonna claims that honor alone, while Dylan has fallen to seventh place.
The Rolling Stones Lead With the Most Top 10 Albums
The Rolling Stones have scored the most top 10s of all time on the Billboard 200, with 38 bestsellers and top performers. The group will almost certainly add to that figure when Billboard refreshes its rankings, as the rockers recently delivered Foreign Tongues, a twenty-seventh studio LP (when looking at American releases). While a No. 1 start seems out of reach, it is likely that Foreign Tongues will become a thirty-ninth top 10 for the Grammy-winning outfit.
Barbra Streisand lands in second on this historic ranking with 34 top 10s. She may also increase that number at some point, as she releases new material every few years and her fan base remains strong.

In between Streisand and Madonna come Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and Elvis Presley. Those acts have racked up 33, 32, and 27 top 10s, respectively.
Paul McCartney Has More Than 50 Top 10s
When combining his solo work and the music he released as part of The Beatles, Paul McCartney easily launches into first place. Under his own name and as the frontman of Wings, McCartney has reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200 with 22 projects. The Beatles have 32, making the superstar the only name with 50 or more appearances inside that most competitive space.
Confessions II Leads Four Billboard Rankings
As it tops the Billboard 200, Confessions II also kicks off its time in first place on the Top Album Sales, Vinyl Albums, and Top Dance Albums charts. Madonna only fails to lead the Top Streaming Albums ranking, though Confessions II does mark her first trip to the roster as it begins its run at No. 32.
