Iconic guitar amplifier and speaker brand Marshall has announced the first update to its Stockwell Bluetooth speaker since 2019. The new Stockwell III is the third generation of the portable speaker and boasts a 40-hour battery life, 360-degree sound and an improved design and acoustics.

Featuring True Stereophonic 360-degree sound, the Stockwell III can be placed anywhere in the room without producing any dead zones. A Dynamic Loudness feature ensures the bass, mids and treble are balanced at any volume. At lower levels, the bass and treble are boosted to maintain details and clarity.

With a distinctly Marshall design, the Stockwell III has a slim vertical outline and comes with a guitar-inspired PU leather carry strap. The whole speaker is enclosed by a textured silicone sleeve and the front and back are protected with solid metal grilles with the iconic Marshall logo front and center.

To control the sound, the Stockwell III sports a brass control panel that’s been updated with more intuitive controls, making it easier to jump to presets using the M-button or skip tracks with the media jog control.

40-Hour Battery

A full charge of the Stockwell III’s built-in battery can deliver at least 40 hours of playtime and doubles as a power bank for topping up a smartphone. The speaker is IP55-rated against the ingress of dust and water, making the Stockwell III suitable for use outdoors.

In line with many other consumer electronics brands, Marshall is moving towards more replaceable and modular parts, partly due to impending right-to-repair legislation and consumer demand for more sustainable products. The Stockwell III’s battery, the front and back grille, silicone sleeve and carry strap can all be replaced to ensure long-term usability.

“Since launching Stockwell II in 2019, technology has moved fast, and Stockwell III takes full benefit from this. Extended battery life, more powerful acoustics, and improved water and dust protection are just some of the key enhancements we’ve made,” says Simona Berbec, product manager at Marshall Group. “We’ve also refined the UI panel for improved tactility and introduced more modular parts to extend the product’s overall lifespan.”
