Meta is holding a Fresh Start sale to kick off the year 2025 in style, and is offering some Meta Quest 3, 3S and Quest 2 titles at a significant discount as part of it.

There’s not long to hang around with this sale, though, as it ends of January 26.

Here are some of the top games you might want to check out before the sale ends. And there are a lot of discounts here that were not found in the festive sale Meta flung out at the end of 2024 too.

The Secret of Retropolis

$1.99 from $7.99

The sequel to this game is more fleshed out and impressive then the original here. But you should play this one first anyway. And for $1.99? It’s a steal. This is like a VR point ’n' click adventure.

You solve puzzles, make some decisions and watch how the intriguing story plays out. This game only takes around an hour to beat, which makes its usual price a bit of a tough sell for some. Meta’s sale solves that issue.

Trombone Champ: Unflattened!

$12.99 from $14.99

You don’t save masses on this game in the sale, but it may be enough to tip over a few who have been sitting on the fence. Trombone Champ is a ridiculous title in which you, yes, play a virtual trombone.

It’s like Guitar Hero, but much sillier. Trombone Champ came out originally in 2022 but the VR version only arrived in late November 2024. As you might imagine, the VR version takes the virtual trombone playing to the next level without remotely reducing the ridiculousness factor.

Bounce Arcade

$14.99 from $19.99

Bounce Arcade only came out in November 2024, but you can already get 25% off. It’s a clever take on virtual reality pinball.

You effectively control the paddles with your arms — a recipe for all kinds of chaos. And the pinball table plays out in front of you in full 3D. There are four tables at present, rather than a huge number, but it gets a high review score from players.

Skydance’s Behemoth

$29.99 from $39.99

This was one of the most anticipated VR games of 2024. It’s an 8-10 hour adventure in which you encounter and fight giant enemies, the behemoths of the title.

There’s a real epic sense of scale to the world as well as these encounters, and there’s a lot of combat with regular-size enemies (and some puzzling) between the behemoth bits. Physics aren’t quite as advanced as something like Blade and Sorcery, and I recommend checking out some full reviews before picking this one up as it did get a mixed reception.

Altdeus: Beyond Chronos

$19.99 from $39.99

This is a VR take on a concept you might think wouldn’t be a good fit for VR at all, the visual novel. It works remarkably well, though, and (thankfully) isn’t as long as some visual novels with around 15-20 hours of gameplay.

Altdeus is part of a trilogy of titles. And all three are in Meta’s sale. But the second works better than the first in the VR medium, and these are semi standalone stories.
