Mets continue to get embarrassed after latest Blue Jays trade report

We all know that the New York Mets aren't going to be buyers at this year's trade deadline, an unfortunate reality for what has been arguably the most disappointing season we've seen from this organization in quite some time, which is absolutely saying something with how poorly the Mets have played at points over the past few decades.

Frankly, for a roster that's this expensive, the Mets have no reason to be this bad.

But there are some other ways that we should look at things when it comes to the Mets.

The Mets have been a team players want to play for, but according to the latest report, some players still don't have much love for the organization.

In fact, they were even placed in a group with some of the smallest-market teams in baseball, including the Milwaukee Brewers, the Athletics, the Chicago White Sox, and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

“The eight teams to which Kevin Gausman can block a trade, according to people briefed on his contract: Reds, Brewers, Tigers, Mets, A’s, White Sox, Pirates, Mariners. Most teams likely to be interested are free to acquire him without restriction,” Ken Rosenthal wrote.

I think this is somewhat of a telling sign about how bad things have been for the Mets recently.

I don't want to say that Gausman doesn't have other reasons for doing this, but if there were tax implications, the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers would be on this list as well.

Instead, the only big-market team here is the Mets, and that's pretty disappointing to see.
