A new in-game event has kicked off in Escape From Tarkov that adds some seriously valuable loot to the woods map, but also makes scavs a little more dangerous.

The new Escape From Tarkov event is called Wild Wild Woods and is live right now. It runs until June 29, 9:00 AM BST / 4:00 AM EDT, meaning you only have a few days to try it out, but if you do, the rewards could be significant.

The headline is that the Woods map is now a haven for rare loot. Marked room keys, key cards, moonshine and just about every rare item you can think of can now be found on Woods. Early reports suggest that all areas of Woods are juiced with loot, so get out there and get searching.

The bonus loot is because there’s a scav war going on, seemingly because the scavs found a hidden stash of loot and are now fighting over it. The scavs are reportedly ignoring Fence’s orders and have gone into business for themselves, but that also means they will shoot at anyone and everyone, including player scavs, so if you were thinking of doing some sneaky scav loot runs, be prepared to fight.

Scavs are also walking around with better gear than usual, including revolvers and lever-action rifles. That means that you could get your head blown off from across the map by the AI, so if you go in as a PMC be geared up. However, that might be more difficult than usual, as PMC numbers have been reduced on Woods and player scavs now spawn in earlier in the raid.

To make sure you can have the most fun possible, scav on scav violence is no longer punished by Fence, so you can shoot whoever you want with no repercussions.

As with most Escape From Tarkov events, there is a new line of tasks associated with the Wild Wild Woods event and completing it will earn you an exclusive achievement.
