Given that I am new to Path of Exile 2, it was sort of stunning to me that the default GGG sets up for the game is just a horrific loot UI where you can barely see valuable materials over all the trash that drops. Instead, the game relies on custom loot filters created by the playerbase.

These are effectively mandatory. At least on the only platform where you can actually get them, PC, as the concept does not work for consoles yet. Now, the best loot filter-maker in the game, NeverSink has released the full version of his filter that totally transforms the looting experience, and this version is super customizable based on what you do or do not want highlighted. But even the default is amazing. Here’s how to get it:

  • Go to FilterBlade and either download the tool or sync the site to your Path of Exile 2 account by logging in through it.
  • From here, you can either just use the (very good) default version or go to the customization screen to change what you want highlighted the most. After that, you can preview what it looks like in the next tab.
  • The final tab is Export to PoE, where all your settings will be saved. Here, the options will be to automatically upload the filter to your Path of Exile 2 account, or the other option is to download the actual file. Syncing didn’t work for me, but the file download did.
  • If you download the file, you go to: %userprofile%/Documents/My Games/Path of Exile 2 and put the file in there.
  • Then, in the game itself, you go to the Game tab where you will see a drop down to select your filter.

Then it’s live, and the highlighted drops will start immediately. Again, I cannot speak highly enough about just how much this has changed how the game plays and feels, from the visuals to the added sound effects (which you can also customize).

I have been totally fine using the new default filter, but I may work on customizing it later, based on what I’m farming for (mainly higher Tier items). If this is your first time using one of these, you may just want the default as well, but it’s up to you.

Thanks to NeverSink and his team for the tireless work on this. GGG should just hire them at this point, I don’t get why this is just not a standard thing.
