The Pittsburgh Penguins still want Jason Robertson.

Right now, they're taking the steps they have to with his brother Nick Robertson to give themselves a chance.

The Penguins and Nick Robertson went to salary arbitration but have reached a settlement, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman:

Now, the hockey world waits to see what happens next.

Jason's arbitration hearing with the Dallas Stars is scheduled for July 25. Many expect a decision to be made before that, whether it's a contract agreement or some sort of sign-and-trade.

The Penguins have been one of the teams linked to Jason all along, and it'd be a huge pickup for Pittsburgh. He had 45 goals and 51 assists last season.

Dallas is going to have a tough time even fitting Jason under their current salary cap constraints, so a deal wouldn't be a surprise. It's actually a bit intriguing that the Stars are still going for it at the moment, because the fit would be really difficult.

To be fair, Jason Robertson is the kind of player you try to push the limits to keep.

The Penguins, though, would gladly take Jason Robertson off their hands -- and it sure can't hurt to have his brother waiting to potentially be his teammate.
