“I started at 19, so I get the before and after pictures from when I’m 19 to 30, and I’m like, ‘I grew up. I lost baby weight in my face, and my face changed because I’m aging.’ Everybody thought I had a nose job, and I’m like, 'I’ve had the exact same nose. My cheeks got smaller. Thank you for bringing it up,’” she said.
Last year, she told the New Yorker that while she’d avoided getting fillers, she does get Botox. She also denied having a deep-plane facelift.
While Jen has been candid about her cosmetic work, several Reddit users were unable to recognize her this week after a clip from her appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast resurfaced on the platform.
The clip in question, which was released in January this year, featured Jen revealing that she almost turned down starring in The Hunger Games because she was content with where she was in her career. “I had reached this point in my career that was really lovely. I was doing indies, which was what I wanted to do, and I had just finished doing a sitcom where I had a steady paycheck,” she shared. “I could act, but I wasn't very, very famous; those people have a normal life.”
Jen later added, “I’ve just always wanted to be a mom, ever since I was little, and so that was always what I was going towards," she said. "And so when I got the Hunger Games, it just looked so different than the original future that I had pictured for myself, which was a soccer mom.”
Jen shares two children with her husband, Cooke Maroney.
While many people shared their thoughts on Jen’s comments, a significant number of Reddit users couldn’t help but suggest that she looked totally different. “Who is that??? Holy hell is that Jennifer Lawrence,” one person said. “Is the person on my screen the Jennifer Lawrence we’re talking about? Cuz honestly - could’ve fooled me,” another wrote.
“I really don’t like commenting on someone’s appearance but she is unrecognizable. If the title didn’t say Jennifer Lawrence idk if I’d ever have figured it out,” one person suggested. “Even if the title says it’s Jennifer Lawrence, I still can’t see it and I’m trying really hard to,” someone echoed.
“I wouldn't have ever thought it was her if it wasn't in the headline,” another user agreed.
One comment read, “I had to unmute to hear her voice because I didn’t even recognize her face.” Someone echoed, “If I’d have played this clip without sound and seeing her name in the title I’m not sure I would have known who I was looking at.”
“I didn't even recognize her here. Her face is completely different,” another person said, while one more comment read, “I barely recognize her.”
