Romeo Beckham is entering a new chapter in his career. Two years after walking away from football, the son of David and Victoria Beckham is set to make his acting debut in Forty Love, a French queer romance directed by renowned fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti.

The film follows rising tennis star Sacha Gallo as he trains alongside his father in pursuit of a major French title. Romeo will play a new rival who enters Sacha's world and challenges everything he thought he knew about himself.

“For the first time, he faces an opponent of an entirely different nature — love,” the synopsis reads, as per Variety. “A force as exhilarating as it is destabilizing — and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court.”

While French audiences can expect to see the film on 25 November, a UK release date has not yet been confirmed.

Of course, Romeo isn’t the first celebrity kid to swap one spotlight for another. Some are practically born with a modelling contract in hand and a film script in the other.

From runway regulars who suddenly found themselves on set, to musicians’ kids who decided acting looked more fun than band rehearsals, there’s a long path of nepo kids pivoting into acting when you least expect it.

Kaia Gerber (daughter of Cindy Crawford)

Following in her mother’s modelling footsteps, Kaia Gerber made her debut for Versace at just 10 years old before going on to work with major fashion houses and appear on countless editorial covers.

She later began exploring acting in her teens, starting with Sister Cities and going on to appear in American Horror Story, Bottoms (2023) and Saturday Night (2024). Gerber is also set to feature in James Morosini’s upcoming erotic thriller Bulls.
