The Atlanta Falcons and superstar wide receiver Drake London reached a four-year, $114 million agreement on Tuesday, extending one of the top wide receivers in the game.
It remains uncertain how that's going to impact the market, but there are definitely some guys around the NFL, wide receiver-wise, who have to feel very happy that London took that deal. Typically, when guys reset the market a bit, that means the next wide receivers in line to get paid will get an even bigger deal.
According to Spotrac, one of the players who could be impacted by that is New Orleans Saints star wide receiver and youngster Chris Olave.
“The big winner from Drake London’s extension with the #Falcons should be Chris Olave, who is currently in negotiations with the division-rival #Saints, and should be in line for a very similar deal,” Spotrac wrote.
I don't want to say that Olave isn't the same caliber of receiver as London, though I prefer London as a player. Olave is also very good, but his injuries have been a bit of a problem.
Regardless, there's definitely a reason to believe that he's going to get paid well, and this extension with London only furthers that.
