Savannah James delivered another effortlessly elegant fashion moment while accompanying her husband, NBA legend LeBron James, to the inaugural TIME100 Sports Gala in New York City.

LeBron James may have debuted a dramatically shaved head Thursday night, but Savannah James gave fans another look worth talking about. Savannah joined her husband on the red carpet at the inaugural TIME100 Sports Gala in New York City, wearing an elegant black dress that proved a memorable outfit does not need to be overly complicated.

The 39-year-old selected a sleeveless floor-length dress with a high halter-style neckline. The minimalist design created a sleek appearance from the front before revealing a low-cut open back. Savannah completed the look with sparkling earrings and wore her hair pulled back, keeping the focus on the clean lines of the dress.

LeBron matched his wife in an all-black ensemble featuring a double-breasted jacket, dress pants and black shoes. He went without a traditional dress shirt underneath the jacket, giving his outfit a more relaxed touch.

The result was a coordinated couples look that allowed Savannah’s dress to remain the centerpiece.

Savannah James keeps winning with red-carpet fashion

Savannah has developed a reputation for delivering stylish looks without appearing to chase attention. Her TIME100 Sports Gala dress continued that trend. The couple’s appearance came as LeBron was honored as the “Athlete of the Century” and recognized as the cover star of TIME’s inaugural list of the 100 most influential people in sports. LeBron and Savannah have been together since they attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. They married in 2013 and have three children: Bronny, Bryce and Zhuri.

Savannah has remained beside LeBron throughout every stage of his basketball career, from his early years with the Cleveland Cavaliers to championships with the Miami Heat, Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. That career has now reached another major crossroads.

LeBron is weighing his options in free agency after leaving the Lakers, and he has said the decision will involve more than basketball. With only one or two seasons potentially remaining in his career, he must also determine what situation makes the most sense for his family. There was no free agency announcement on the red carpet Thursday night. Instead, LeBron and Savannah enjoyed the moment and celebrated another historic honor together.

LeBron was the man of the hour, but Savannah once again proved she does not need a trophy or title to own the red carpet.
