The Carolina Hurricanes are one win away from their second Stanley Cup title in franchise history, but that final victory may be the toughest of all. The Vegas Golden Knights, meanwhile, enter Game 6 having dropped each of the last two games and facing elimination for the first time in the playoffs.
Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal has produced a historically good series, becoming the first player to score a goal in each of the first five Stanley Cup Final games since 1956. Staal has six goals overall as he searches for a second championship and first with Carolina.
A bigger Hurricanes story, though, is goalie Brandon Bussi, who took over at goalie mid-series for Frederik Andersen. Bussi didn't appear in a game this playoffs since Game 3, but now led the Hurricanes to wins in Games 4 and 5 to help them take control of the series.

On the other side, the Golden Knights are at risk of letting a 2-1 series lead slip away for good. Goalie Carter Hart has allowed at least four goals in every game, the first time a goalie has done that in the first five Stanley Cup Final games, but John Tortorella is confidently sticking with him moving forward.
Vegas has gotten a lot of production from Mitch Marner and Jack Eichel, but William Karlsson could be out moving forward after leaving Game 5 with an injury. Vegas is on a losing streak for the first time since the end of March, and the team cannot afford to let it continue.
This has been a close series throughout with every game thus far being decided by either one or two goals, which includes two overtime games. While the Golden Knights want to force a Game 7 on Wednesday, the Hurricanes want to end the series tonight.
