Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could dish out six-figure price tag for police presence at wedding

It's possible that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could be footing a six-figure security bill for their big day. The couple, who are rumored to get married at Madison Square Garden on Friday, July 3, could be shelling out six figures to have a police presence at The Garden.

According to TMZ, sources tell the outlet that over 70 detectives, 50 police officers, and some higher-ups have been assigned to MSG for the rehearsal on Thursday, July 2, as well as Friday for the big day. The detectives will be working  8.5-hour shifts at $80 to $90 an hour, police officers will be working 9-hour shifts for $70 an hour, with the outlet noting that they are mostly rookies. The number of higher-ups has not been disclosed, but it's estimated that it will total at least a $160,000 price tag for the superstar couple.

It's still unclear at this time if the $160,000 price tag will be coming out of Swift and Kelce's pockets or if taxpayers will be footing the six-figure bill.

Last week, according to The New York Times, a permit was filed for the usage for the streets around Madison Square Garden to be closed from July 2 to midday July 4 for an event on July 3, citing several sources.

While who this event is for hasn't been disclosed, several signs point to the power couple. Several members of the Kansas City Chiefs have booked hotel rooms for dates around July 3 at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, a person aware of the accommodations told the outlet.

The third clue was made by a New York City official who said, "Madison Square Garden is planning to host the wedding festivities on July 3," the outlet reports.

There has also been a lot of movement around the iconic New York City venue with cargo trucks loading what seems to be large set pieces resembling a castle and a "purple" carpet.

The couple, of course, has not said a peep about their potential nuptials at The Garden, and wedding guests are also keeping their ceremony details top secret.

An insider told Page Six that “everyone’s been sworn to secrecy.”
