Univision's 2025 Premios Juventud a dazzling live telecast from Panama City marked the first time the awards show was held outside the U.S.
TelevisaUnivision/Premios Juventud
TelevisaUnivision is taking Premios Juventud to Europe for the first time in the show’s history. The network announced today that the awards show will air live from the Starlite Auditorium in Marbella, Spain, on September 3.
The move continues a run of international expansion for the franchise. Last year, the 22nd edition made history as the first Premios Juventud held outside the United States, broadcasting live from Panama City, Panama, where it shattered cross-platform records with a 58% year-over-year increase and more than 450 million total engagements across TV, social, digital, and ViX.
The awards show will again honor artists and young changemakers making an impact through music, social media and community service. The event will air on Univision, UNIMÁS, Galavisión, and ViX.
TelevisaUnivision first signaled the Marbella move at its Upfronts in May, but today's announcement puts a date on the show and provides a broader scope of its plans.
It is not the first time a TelevisaUnivision music awards show has landed in Spain. The Latin Grammys made their own historic move to Sevilla in 2023, the first time the ceremony had left the U.S. since its launch in 2000.
Introducing PJ Fest
The awards show is now the centerpiece of a larger concept. This year's edition arrives as part of PJ Fest, a new weeklong cultural festival built around music, brand activations, gastronomy, and digital content spanning multiple cities.
This year’s theme is "Conéctate al Vibe," pointing to the event’s social-first ambitions. The festival is designed to connect artists directly with fans through live experiences.
"Bringing Premios Juventud to Europe marks a historic milestone for one of our most iconic franchises," said Ignacio Meyer, president of Univision Television Networks Group at TelevisaUnivision. "This new experience allows us to connect with younger generations through music, culture, and shared experiences while expanding the global reach of Latin music."
A Partnership With Starlite
The Starlite Group is hosting the event at its Marbella venue, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Sandra García-Sanjuán, president of Starlite Music Group, said the partnership goes beyond a single event.
"It is a bridge between two continents, two cultures, and millions of people united by music and entertainment," she said. "Premios Juventud will not only bring some of the biggest names in Latin music and entertainment to Spain, but it will also create an extraordinary opportunity for Spanish talent to reach new audiences across the Americas."
Nominees, performers, presenters and additional PJ Fest experiences are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
