The state of Oklahoma had a premium on softball from 2021-24, when the Oklahoma Sooners won four consecutive national championships. Now, it's officially Texas' era.

After Texas climbed the mountaintop and edged out Texas Tech for the title in last year's Women's College World Series, the two in-state rivals meet again with glory on the line.

An expensive Red Raiders roster, led by NiJaree Canady, is hoping to get some revenge on the reigning champion Longhorns, who dropped their first Women's College World Series game against Tennessee but beat the Volunteers twice to keep their title hopes alive.

A win Wednesday night would move Texas Tech within one win of its first national championship and push the defending champions to the brink.
