The Glamorous TVs Of CES 2025 Include OLED, QLED And Transparent Displays

The Consumer Electronics Show is the place for TV manufacturers to showcase their upcoming launches for the year. While Sony has pivoted to other announcements in recent years, brands like LG, Samsung, and others continue to introduce new TVs and headline the show.

The new TVs boast upgraded OLED panels, improved audio quality, more functional AI, and a host of other updates. These are the TVs of CES 2025 that caught my eye and you should know about.

LG G5 OLED

LG has long been the go-to recommendation for premium OLED TVs, and it seems poised to hold that tag this year. The new LG G5 OLED features a new four-stack OLED panel that appears significantly brighter than the micro-lens-array (MLA) technology used in previous LG OLED TVs.

It also supports a 165Hz refresh rate with compatibility for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium VRR, catering to console gamers. The new LG OLED TV can adjust its brightness based on ambient lighting, thanks to the company’s Brightness Booster Ultimate and Filmmaker Mode. It’s priced at $2,800 for the 65-inch model.

New Samsung QLED TVs with Anti-Glare Tech

Samsung’s anti-glare technology from the S95D OLED is making its way to the QN990F and QN900F models. These new 8K QLED TVs are part of the Neo QLED range. The anti-reflective coating allows the TVs to deliver an immersive viewing experience even when placed opposite a window. You get excellent contrast and brightness levels with the matte finish.

Both models also provide access to the Samsung Art Store, where you can choose screensavers from over 3,000 art pieces sourced from museums worldwide. The QN990F includes the Wireless One Connect Box, so you can plug your HDMI connections into a transmitter box instead of the television. This setup allows you to watch 8K content wirelessly.

While pricing and availability details for these ultra-premium models are not yet available, their predecessors start at $3,500.

There’s also a more affordable 4K QLED lineup, which has been upgraded to offer a glare-free screen, the NQ4 AI Gen3 processor, a 165Hz refresh rate, and include a new 115-inch model. Samsung should announce the price and availability details in the coming months,

LG’s Transparent OLED finally has a price tag

I first saw LG’s transparent TV at last year’s CES, but it wasn’t a finalized product. At CES 2025, the company announced the sale and pricing details of its 77-inch transparent 4K OLED TV.

The LG OLED T offers two modes: transparent and opaque. The opaque mode uses a curtain to provide better contrast when needed. It is said to deliver "visually lossless wireless video and audio transmission" via its wireless connection box.

The transparent OLED TV supports Dolby Vision, 4K/120Hz gaming, and is powered by LG’s Alpha AI processor. It’s now available for purchase at $60,000.

CES 2025 had more TVs for TCL, Hisense and Displace but the aforementioned ones are the most glamorous mainstream models coming to the market this year.
