The Ellie and Nora confrontation is basically shot-for-shot and line-for-line from the video game.

1. First, Dina (Isabela Merced) figuring out the W.L.F's movements using a radio and a map is something she also does in the game.

a character examines a map, then two characters sit on the floor in a dimly lit room with a radio transmission text

2. And in the show, Ellie (Bella Ramsey) is all excited that she figures out how to turn the generator on in the theater, which is something gamers figure out while playing as Ellie directly after Dina reveals she's pregnant.

3. Ellie walking into the theater and finding the abandoned music equipment is also something that happens in the game, with Ellie going there right after turning on the generator.

However, in the game, Ellie spends the night in the theater after fighting with Dina.

4. While in the theater, Ellie plays the beginning of "Future Days" by Pearl Jam, which is an important song from The Last of Us Part II game, and it will likely come up again in the show. Also, it connects back to a Pearl Jam poster being an Easter egg in the music shop in Episode 4.

5. The Seraphite mural that Dina and Ellie come across while walking through Seattle is directly from the game. In the game, they stumble across it while on their way to the TV studio.

6. Dina mentions that she used to live in New Mexico with her mom and sister, and they both died after a raider found them while Dina was out. In the game, Dina mentions that the first person she killed was a guy coming at her mom. We also learn in The Art of The Last of Us Part II book that Dina's mom died, and she was raised by her sister in New Mexico before her sister eventually died. Just like in the show, we don't know specifics on how Dina got to Jackson.

7. When Jesse (Young Mazino) arrives and saves Ellie and Dina from the stalkers, he's actually silhouetted to look like Joel, which is why Ellie is initially taken aback. In the game, Jesse also shows up to help Ellie, however Dina is not with them and the setting is different than the abandoned warehouse in the show.

8. In fact, the Jesse-Joel fakeout is something Naughty Dog notably did for The Last of Us Part II trailer, where they put Joel in a scene that ultimately ended up being Jesse once the game was released.

Ellie and Joel, characters from a video game, have a tense conversation. Joel says, "Think I'd let you do this on your own?"

9. Jesse mentions that he and Tommy (Gabriel Luna) followed Ellie and Dina to Seattle. In the game, Tommy is actually the one who goes to Seattle first, with Maria sending Ellie and Dina after him, then Jesse follows the three of them.

10. The park where Jesse, Dina, and Ellie run into the Seraphites is a moment from the game as well; however, in gameplay, Ellie is alone and has to get through the park in order to get to the hospital. Dina getting shot, which causes Jesse and Dina to split from Ellie, is also new for the show.

 "Now he is free."

11. Alright, when Ellie confronts Nora (Tati Gabrielle) before she runs away, the scene is an almost line-for-line and shot-for-shot recreation of what exactly happens in The Last of Us Part II.

12. Season 2, Episode 5 introduces spores into the TV adaptation, which is the main threat of infection in The Last of Us video games. In the show, Nora chooses to go down to the basement where the spores are, while in the game, Ellie knowingly tackles Nora through a hole in the floor to the infected area.

13. The main confrontation between Ellie and Nora is also a direct recreation of what happens in the game, right down to Nora telling Ellie, "Don't you know what he did?"

14. Also, the way the moment is filmed, not only does Ellie hitting Nora with the pipe mirror what it looked like when Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) hit Joel (Pedro Pascal) with the golf club, but Ellie torturing Nora also looks like when Joel tortured David's men for information in Season 1.

15. And finally, Ellie waking up in her bedroom to Joel saying "Hey, kiddo" mirrors when Sarah (Nico Parker) woke up in her bed in the very first episode. You'll also notice Sarah is facing the sun, while Ellie's face is in shadow.

Both moments happen on someone's birthday, too.

Alright, that's all for now. Come back again next week for even more details from the next episode.
