The Golden State Warriors are reportedly interested in making a notable frontcourt roster move this summer.

According to NBA insider Scoop B. Robinson, reuniting with an elite 6-foot-9 rebounder and three-time NBA champion.

“Following his decorated tenure with the Warriors, Looney took his veteran leadership to the New Orleans Pelicans,” Robinson wrote Friday. “Now, a return to the franchise where he spent a decade and won three rings is firmly on the table for both sides—once the ultimate prize of free agency is decided.”

“Until LeBron makes his final decision, the rest of the NBA universe—including the anticipated reunion between Kevon Looney and the Golden State Warriors—remains completely on pause.”

Looney, who signed with the Pelicans last offseason following a 10-year stint with the Dubs, is also being pursued by the Los Angeles Lakers after the franchise traded Deandre Ayton to the Washington Wizards

“The Lakers will now focus on finding Walker Kessler's backup on the market -- with centers such as Andre Drummond, Jonas Valanciunas, and Kevon Looney among those being considered,” ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on X/Twitter.

With the Stein Line’s Marc Stein and Jake Fischer recently reporting that the New York Knicks are also in the hunt for Looney, it’s safe to say that the Warriors will certainly have their work cut out for them.

Looney proved to be a valuable 6-foot-9 workhorse who helped increase the Warriors’ attention upon entering games and wasn’t afraid to fight for rebounds. Looney averaged at least 10 rebounds per 40 minutes during nine of his 10 seasons, showcasing his ability to take control of the glass on both ends of the floor.

While the 30-year-old didn’t have his best season with the Pelicans last season, he still managed to snag 15.4 boards per 40 minutes in 21 games. Whether it’s the Warriors, Lakers, or Knicks, there’s a good chance Looney will return to a championship-contending franchise this summer.
