After a stellar season as a rookie in 2024, Washington Commanders star quarterback Jayden Daniels hit a bit of a sophomore slump in his second season in 2025.
He'll be looking to bounce back in 2026, and the Commanders could help him do that by providing him with as many weapons as possible at his disposal.
With that in mind, the Commanders have been urged to sign a veteran star wide receiver before the start of the season.
Commanders urged to sign Tyreek Hill before 2026 NFL season
In a recent article for ESPN, Aaron Schatz named one move that every team needs to make before the onset of the '26 season and signing Tyreek Hill was the move for Washington.
From Schatz:
The caveat here is 'if healthy,' but the Commanders could use a solid No. 2 receiver and a field stretcher who is a step up from Dyami Brown. They are currently third in cap space, so the economics work for them. Jayden Daniels is a dynamic young quarterback who could get the ball out to Hill.
Hill, who is coming off of a devastating knee injury suffered in Week 4 last season, remains unsigned at this point in the offseason.
There are obviously questions and concerns about how he will bounce back from that injury, but he could be worth a flyer for a team like Washington, depending on the price tag.
