Rain has put a halt to play during the first day of Australian Open across the opening Sunday.
In a nightmare for Tennis Australia, Melbourne's skies opened up within an hour of play beginning on the outside courts.
At the Australian Open, there is three courts with roofs that play can continue on through any weather - Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena and John Cain Arena.

Current status - No play on outside courts before 5pm, with a further update at 4pm
Play on the outside courts at Melbourne Park was stopped at around 12:00pm after a storm hit the tennis precinct.
With such a huge volume of rain initially coming and then a steady drizzle after, play has been delayed until at least 5pm on the opening day.
