Deschamps will miss France's final World Cup Group I match against Norway after returning home following the death of his mother.

The French Football Federation announced the decision on Monday, with the 57-year-old leaving the squad's base to be with his family for her funeral.

When will Didier Deschamps be back at the World Cup?

Deschamps is expected to rejoin France's World Cup camp after the Norway match, with reports indicating he is due to travel back to Boston on Saturday.

France have already booked their place in the Round of 32 after winning their opening two matches, with top spot in Group I still to be decided against Norway.
